Privacy Policy

Last updated: Aug. 2026

Your privacy matters to us — not because regulations say it should, but because trust is the foundation of everything we're building at HerKin. This policy explains what information we collect, why we need it, and what we do (and don't do) with it.

If anything below raises a question, please reach out: hello@herkinlife.com.

1. What We Collect

When you place an order or sign up for our newsletter, we collect the information you provide:

• Your name and email address

• Shipping and billing addresses

• Phone number (if you choose to share it)

• Payment information (processed securely — we never see your full card number)

• Order history and preferences

When you browse our site, we automatically collect:

• Pages you visit and how long you spend on them

• Your device type and browser information

• Your general location (country/city level, not precise)

• How you found us (referral source)

We use cookies and similar technologies to make this possible — more on that below.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use what we collect for a few simple reasons:

• To process your order and get it to your doorstep

• To send you order updates and shipping confirmations

• To respond when you reach out to us

• To send you emails about new products and stories — only if you've signed up for them

• To understand what's working on our site and what could be better

• To comply with legal obligations

We don't use your data in ways that would surprise you. We don't build creepy profiles. We don't sell your information to anyone.

3. Who We Share With

To run our business, we work with a small number of trusted partners. We only share what's necessary:

• Payment processors — to securely handle your transaction

• Shipping carriers — so your order reaches you

• Email platform — to send you newsletters (only if you've subscribed)

• Analytics tools — to understand how our site is performing

• Advertising partners — Meta, Google, and Pinterest may receive data through cookies for ad delivery and measurement, but only when you've consented to marketing cookies

Every partner we work with is contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the specific purpose we've authorized.

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information in the traditional sense. That's not who we are.

However, under California law, certain types of data sharing — such as the use of advertising cookies — may be categorized as a "sale" of personal information. You can opt out of this at any time by managing your cookie preferences or contacting us directly.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small text files that help our site remember you — like recalling what's in your cart, or knowing you've already seen our cookie notice.

We use:

• Essential cookies — these keep the site working (your cart, checkout)

• Analytics cookies — these help us see what pages people love

• Marketing cookies — these help us show you relevant ads (only with your consent)

You can manage your cookie preferences anytime by clicking the cookie icon at the bottom of any page. You can also set your browser to block cookies — though some parts of the site may not work quite as smoothly.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data:

For residents of the European Union, United Kingdom, and European Economic Area (GDPR):

• The right to access — ask us what data we have about you

• The right to correct — tell us if something's wrong and we'll fix it

• The right to delete — ask us to remove your data (with some legal exceptions)

• The right to portability — request your data in a readable format

• The right to object — tell us to stop using your data for certain purposes

For residents of California (CCPA):

• The right to know — what we collect and how we use it

• The right to delete — request removal of your personal data

• The right to opt out — we don't sell your data, but you can still formally opt out

• The right to non-discrimination — exercising your rights won't affect your experience with us

For residents of Canada (PIPEDA):

• The right to access — ask us what personal data we hold about you

• The right to correct — request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete data

• The right to withdraw consent — tell us to stop using your data, subject to legal or contractual restrictions

• The right to complain — raise concerns with us or with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

For residents of Australia (Privacy Act 1988):

• The right to access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you

• The right to correct — ask us to update or fix your personal information

• The right to complain — if you're not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can contact us or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner

For residents of Japan (Act on Protection of Personal Information — APPI):

• The right to access — request disclosure of the personal data we hold about you

• The right to correct — ask us to fix inaccurate information

• The right to cease use / delete — request that we stop using or delete your personal data

• The right to be informed — know how and why we use your data

For residents of Singapore (Personal Data Protection Act — PDPA):

• The right to access — request your personal data from us

• The right to correct — ask us to correct errors in your data

• The right to withdraw consent — tell us to stop collecting, using, or disclosing your data (with reasonable notice)

• The right to be informed — know the purposes for which we collect and use your data

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@herkinlife.com. We'll respond within 7 business days.

6. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as we need it — for processing orders, maintaining your account if you create one, or meeting legal requirements. When we no longer need it, we delete it securely.

7. Security

We protect your data with industry-standard security measures, including SSL encryption on every page of our site. No method of online transmission is 100% secure, but we take every reasonable step to keep your information safe.

8. Children's Privacy

HerKin is not intended for children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you're a parent and believe your child has shared data with us, please let us know and we'll remove it right away.

9. Changes to This Policy

As HerKin grows, this policy may evolve. We'll post any updates here and — if the changes are significant — we'll let you know by email.
